EAShibby’s App

This Season we had a new feature that made the Admins life and the players life much much much easier. EAShibby created an App that allowed both players and captains to easily create and manage each weeks series. In conjunction with that he had to rebuild the GNL Bots so as to work with the App. Without him this season would have been much more difficult.

The unOfficial GNL Site and Some GNL Statistics

One awesome thing about this season was the voice activity. Never before have we seen the amount of voice activity that we did this season. In the week of February 20, we had 13,534 minutes of discussion. That is 225.5 hours. That is over 9 days worth of chat. Due to the fact that we always had one (if not multiple) channels of discussion open almost 24/7, somehow we managed to talk for more minutes than there are during a whole week.

Once again, like last season, LongJacket made an amazing site which tracked the activity of the teams and players individually. Check it out here . Longjacket also made our players their very own ladder achievements to encourage laddering.

In total GNL Players played 5,375 ladder games during the 6 weeks of the season.

Drug Lords as a team also won the unofficial GNL Site race with Saul’s Angels right on their tails.

This season 2 players specifically stood out as the biggest grinders. Five Star Ghoul and WarDanCa. Both played hundreds of games over the course of those 5 weeks.

Fantasy League

This seasons fantasy league was won by SquidFishious. OldGreg took second with Mr. Solstice taking third.

SquidFishious’ team “My Tentacle Romance” and his players.

Plans going forward

There will be a GNL S18, but we will be taking a break. There are several other tourneys that will be running during our down time. Fountain of Manner League (run by Grinchy/Wontu/OldGreg/KennyG and the boys in FoM) will happen.

In the meantime there are a ton of other events that will be happening. Gym will continue hosting events such as King of the Hill and potentially other cool tournaments and projects.

Of course all the captains and coaches (and players) will still be hanging around in gym and ready to practice and train and just hang out and game so come join us there!

We are always looking for new projects/events to do in Warcraft 3, on our Discord, or on our site. If you have any suggestions or ideas message one of the admins on Discord. If you would like to help out as well with any of the things being done in Gym, just message Barren or one of the other admins.

If you do not know what GNL is or are interested in taking part in the future this post explains it all.

Come hang out with us on Discord. The games never stop there. You can also follow us on Twitter.

Shout outs!

There are alot of people behind the scenes to make GNL work and many people do not even realize they are there. So here is a quick run down of all the people who make GNL operate.

I do this every season but honestly without them this wouldn’t be possible.

Thank you to the captains/coaches: EAShibby, Glaive, OldGreg, GonzoTramer, Razer, NorthDrakkar, Barren, Jabba, RandomBadGamer, DwieTwarze, KennyG, and Jinvar.

Thank you to the floating coaches: Ikenbencool, Ena, FattsRussell, Thea, Armin, Ves, Wontu, Cas, Sayso, Ceron, Kaiser, Colorado, Dark, Ember, Echogoodman, GotQuail, narbu, tiesiog, quberte, saulapeman, and spycreed. I totally am missing a few and for that I am sorry but there are alot of ppl willing to put in time and help out and I can’t even keep track of all of them half the time.

For the App and bots: EAShibby. That was HUGE this season and made everything work much easier.

For the site: Shout out to Sasha, he basically did it all. Thank you to EAShibby for integrating the app into the website.

For the unOfficial GNL website: Longjacket!

Shout out to everyone who made our logos these seasons

And finally thank you to just everyone who participated, casted, watched, or helped any of the GNL players or captains this season. You guys make the scene what it is.
