GNL S18 has come to a finish. Crit Happens came roaring back in the final week of GNL to overcome a comfortable lead that Saul’s Angels had built. It came down to the final day of GNL to declare a winner, but in the end Crit Happens eked out the win.
Congratulations to the whole Crit Happens team including Ares, Brittonvol, Burrowrush, Crispy, Degrand, fourthAge, Kjcags, Knappetroll, Meftly, Silentyoda, SmoothEEL, Superfurion, ThaGrinchyUno, Zreitdl, Jinvar, and EAShibby.
Here are the point totals:

This is the first season in long time that by the final day of the season very single game was done. Thank you to all the players for making this a very fun end of season.
If you would like to see all the players and teams you can check them out here.
The unOfficial GNL Site and Some GNL Statistics
GNL officially ended August 9th. As you can tell from the graph, the players were utilizing GNL voice channels and their private team channels quite alot. The past 2 seasons we have seen an uptick in voice activity. This season we hit a new record of 15,747 speaking minutes in one week. You can see exactly where voice activity dipped, which is rightafter GNL S18 ended. Never before have we seen the amount of voice activity that we did this season. 15,747 minutes of discussion is equivalent of 262.45 hours worth of chat or almost 11 days worth of people talking… in one week.

On top of that the GNL team text chats were also extremely active
The total messages in each team channel (not including time in voice channels and voice text chat)
BAA: 4,057 lines
GNLB: 1,625
AA: 4,708
MJM: 2,929
SA: 3,804
CH: 7,931
As you can tell from the text chats, Crit Happens once again was the most active text chat. But really all the text and voice chats were active with theory crafting, training, and plenty of memeing.
We also had our unofficial ladder race that was originally made by Longjacket. Check it out here . On top of tracking which teams play the most, Longjacket also made our players their very own ladder achievements to encourage laddering.
In total, GNL players played 5,838 ladder games during the 6 weeks of the season.
Team Sheepapults (BAA) takes the unofficial ladder race win! MoonJuice Moonshiners (MJM) came in a close second.

guillvh (itsjustagame) clearly played the most amount of games, with 300+ games played and averaged around 10 games a day.
Special shoutout to greedisgood who came into the league at the lowest brackets. He started the season at 406 mmr but through hard work (and some AKM strategies) was able to achieve 1016 mmr by the end of the season.
To try and list the achievements of all the players would take too long. Due to players constant training (and a little help and prodding from coaches) we had many players who were able to go up by several hundred mmr over the course of the season.
A full breakdown of all the teams, players, races, and fantasy league team breakdowns can also be found here. This is generated by EAShibbys awesome app. The Orc players had the best win rate this season. Orcs also made filson quit (if you know you know).
Fantasy League
This seasons fantasy league was won by Brittonvol. 2face was right behind him with EAshibby taking third.

Plans going forward
There will be a GNL S19, but we will be taking a break.
In the meantime there are a ton of other events that will be happening. Gym will continue hosting events such as King of the Hill and potentially other cool tournaments and projects.
Of course all the captains and coaches (and players) will still be hanging around in gym and ready to practice and train and just hang out and game so come join us there!
We are always looking for new projects/events to do in Warcraft 3, on our Discord, or on our site. If you have any suggestions or ideas message one of the admins on Discord. If you would like to help out as well with any of the things being done in Gym, just message Barren or one of the other admins.
If you do not know what GNL is or are interested in taking part in the future this post explains it all.
Come hang out with us on Discord. The games never stop there. You can also follow us on Twitter.
